 The Forest-Based Sector Technology Platform (FTP) aims at defining and implementing a research and development roadmap for the European forest-based sector. The platform is supported in its endeavours by a wide range of stakeholders. The FTP is an industry-driven platform for collaboration in a sector which makes crucial contributions to the sustainable development and competitiveness of Europe. The platform is an initiative of the European Confederation of Woodworking Industries (CEI-Bois), the Confederation of European Forest Owners (CEPF) and the Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI), later joined by the European State Forest Association (EUSTAFOR). In order to link the FTP's wide scope with the national level, National Support Groups (NSGs) serve as dual communication channels. NSGs typically comprise representatives of the forest-based sector in a specific country, including researchers and representatives of national financing and governmental bodies.
