German Biomass Research Centre

 The German Biomass Research Centre (DBFZ) was founded from the German Federal Ministry for Nutrition, Agriculture and Consumer Protection in the beginning of 2008. Since June 2008, the German Biomass Research Centre (DBFZ) has been the legal successor of the Institute for Energy and Environment (IEE). The work includes feasibility studies, reports, surveys, impact assessment under technological, economical and environmental criteria as well as scenario analyses and life cycle assessments. Further topics are modelling and simulations as well as experimental examinations from the laboratory level to pilot projects. At present, the German Biomass Research Centre focuses its work on the following areas of expertise: Bioenergy systems, Biogas technology, Biofuels, Biomass combustion in small applications, Thermo-chemical process technology and International Affairs.
