Star-COLIBRI project: biorefinery clustering
Partners
The Star-COLIBRI project is led by 5 European Technology Platforms and 5 major European Research organisations. Click on the logos for more details about each partner and their activities within the project.
Plants for the Future ETP

‘Plants for the Future’ (Plant ETP) is a stakeholder forum for the plant sector with members from industry, academia and the farming community. It published the Vision for the plant sector in 2004 and a final Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) in 2007. The vision of the Plant ETP is to develop the plant sector in Europe to meet the increased demand for healthier, higher quality and more diverse food and feed, and to address sustainability with the development of novel biomaterials (including pharmaceuticals and chemicals), bioenergy and renewable resources. Plant ETP is now developing the implementation plan of the SRA. To foster implementation of the SRA, the Plant ETP will promote and advocate strategic and internationally competitive research. Education, communication and innovation embracement (including general policy statements) will be complementary tasks.
European Plant Science Organisation (EPSO) is an independent academic organisation that represents more than 204 research institutes, departments and universities from 29 countries in Europe and beyond. EPSO's mission is to improve the impact and visibility of plant science in Europe.
Role in the project
Plant ETP/EPSO will mainly contribute to the information handling and collection of biomass availability in Europe and in other parts of the world, to the collection of information on biorefinery research funding and projects. They will also participate to the identification of potential Star-projects via its National Support Groups and to the development of a common European 2030 Vision and of a Strategic Research Roadmap for Biorefineries 2020. They will be supporting the Star-Cluster coordination and ensure the dissemination of the project results.
