Star-COLIBRI project: biorefinery clustering
Partners
The Star-COLIBRI project is led by 5 European Technology Platforms and 5 major European Research organisations. Click on the logos for more details about each partner and their activities within the project.
Sustainable Chemistry ETP
The Sustainable Chemistry ETP – SusChem TP brings together a wide spectrum of organisations and individuals looking to boost sustainable chemistry, industrial biotechnology and chemical engineering research, development and innovation in Europe. SusChem TP has already published its Vision, Strategic Research Agenda and Implementation Action Plan (end 2006). It is now mostly focusing on implementation of research through monitoring EU research programme and facilitating the creation of scientific consortium, and on the development of an adequate framework for innovation for sustainable chemistry in Europe. This is done through for instance active participation in the development of the Lead market Initiative on bio-based products and through collaboration with relevant ERA-Nets. SusChem has currently 10 National Technology Platforms and an informal network of associations in the countries where there is no national coordination between the different fields covered by SusChem.

EuropaBio's mission is to promote an innovative and dynamic biotechnology-based industry in Europe. EuropaBio, (the European Association for Bioindustries), has 69 corporate and 7 associate members operating worldwide, 4 Bioregions and 26 national biotechnology associations representing some 1800 small and medium sized enterprises.
Role in the project
EuropaBio will mainly coordinate actions related to communication within the project: they will organise both major stakeholder meetings to take place in April 2011 and October 2011 and ensure the dissemination of project results through active use of interactive communication tools. They will also act as a platform between the project and the Lead Market Initiative on Biobased products, as well as ERA-IB, providing contributions to other major tasks of the project such as StarClustering and both vision documents.
