Star-COLIBRI project: biorefinery clustering

Further to a recent meeting, Star-COLIBRI and its sister projects SUPRABIO, BIOCORE and EuroBioref took their first steps in joint work. All four projects are funded under the European Commission’s Sustainable Biorefineries Call (FP7-2009-BIOREFINERY-CP) and will work among other areas on sharing methodologies and project findings. These joint efforts shall optimise the outcome of each project, thus benefiting the biorefining sector in Europe.

The biorefinery projects will co-operate and liaise with the aim to:

• Harmonise procedures for multicriteria sustainability analyses
• Harmonise biomass characterisation protocols
• Explore opportunities to organise common training and education activities
